These sturdy containers look and feel like a paper product but are made from a plant called bulrush. If you think corn and sugarcane based cups and containers are great, you’ll love bulrush. Bulrush is similar to cattails, which are common in freshwater and marine coastal areas of the United States. Now a new California company called BeGreen Packaging is making compostable containers from it.

Containers made from this plant are durable, microwave and freezer friendly, and of course, certified compostable.
